Set up in a minute

Open the app. Set the pieces. Play.

Pair over Bluetooth

The board connects to the free GoChess app on iOS or Android. No subscription, now or later.

Pick your game

Your online account, the board's own AI, or the person sitting opposite you.

Follow the lights

The squares light under your hand while you play, so the lesson happens at the board.

Six reasons it is on the table

What the board actually does

Your online games, offline

Chess.com and Lichess run on the board itself, against millions of opponents at any level.

An opponent at your level

The board is the opponent, with an AI you can set from first move to well past club strength.

Coaching in the squares

Lights show the possible move, the best move and the mistake, while you sit at the game.

Two levels, one game

Face to face, each player gets tips at their own level, so a beginner and a veteran enjoy the same game.

It leaves the cupboard

35mm squares, 8.7mm thin, two pouches and a stand. It travels in the bag you already carry.

It lasts the session

Rechargeable over USB-C, 5 to 10 hours of play, and the pieces are magnetic so the position survives the journey.

Everything you need to know

Does it really play my Chess.com and Lichess games?

Yes. You link your account in the GoChess app and your online opponent's moves appear as lights on the board. You answer by moving a real piece.

Is there a subscription?

No. The GoChess app is free on iOS and Android, and everything on this page works without paying anything beyond the board.

How big is it?

Standard size, with 35mm squares, and 8.7mm thin. The GoChess Pro is the full, tournament-size board if you want the larger one.

How long does the battery last?

Between 5 and 10 hours of play, and it recharges over USB-C with the cable in the box.

Is this the same thing as the GoChess Mini?

Yes. The Mini was renamed GoChess Air. Same board, same SKU, and the reviews on the store are its own. A box shipped before the change may still carry the old name.

What if I do not get on with it?

There is a 30-day money-back guarantee. US shipping is free over $39, and we ship worldwide.
